Faith Worth Following: How Faith Brockers Turned a Bible Study Session into a New Book and a Life Dedicated to Serving Others

Ross: What inspired you to write your first book?

Faith: My inspiration for writing my first book came during a deep Bible study on Proverbs 31 with Author Angelica Duncan. Growing up in a Christian home, I was always encouraged to strive to be a Proverbs 31 woman, but I longed to understand what that truly meant and how to live it out in everyday life. Through that study, I realized that the qualities of the Proverbs 31 woman—kindness, wisdom, strength, and faith—could be introduced to children in a relatable and inspiring way. That realization became the foundation for my first book.

Ross: When did you first get the idea to become an author?

Faith: I’ve dreamed of becoming an author since I was in college. Whether it was writing children’s books or self-help books, I always knew I wanted to use my words to encourage, inspire, and make a positive impact. Publishing my first book has been the beginning of a dream I’ve carried for many years.

Ross: What do you want readers’ biggest takeaways to be from your book?

Faith: My greatest hope is that readers are inspired to spread kindness and live according to God’s Word. I want children and families to understand that being a Proverbs 31 girl or woman isn’t about being perfect—it’s about pursuing a life of faith, strength, wisdom, compassion, and integrity. Even the smallest acts of kindness can make a lasting difference in the lives of others.

Ross: What inspired you to get into the senior care business?

Faith: I’ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur, but more importantly, I wanted my work to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. As I researched different business opportunities, I was drawn to senior care because it aligned with my passion for serving others. Caring for seniors allows me to positively impact families during some of their most vulnerable moments, and that’s incredibly rewarding.

Ross: What have been your favorite moments in that industry?

Faith: One of my most memorable experiences was stepping in to personally care for a client when a caregiver was unexpectedly unavailable. Spending that one-on-one time reminded me why I entered this industry in the first place. Building relationships with our clients, hearing their stories, and providing comfort and dignity during their time of need has been one of the greatest privileges of my career.

Ross: What inspired you and your husband to open a luxury sports bar?

Faith: My husband has always had a passion for sports and hospitality. His vision was to create more than just a sports bar—he wanted to build a luxury venue where people from all walks of life could gather, enjoy exceptional food and drinks, watch their favorite teams, and create lasting memories together. With multiple viewing areas throughout the venue, we wanted to create an elevated experience that combines entertainment, community, and outstanding customer service.

Ross: What can your readers expect next from you?

Faith: I would love to take MaKaela the Helper: A Proverbs 31 Story on a library tour, sharing the book with children and families in communities everywhere. I’m also currently working on another children’s book that I hope to release in the future. Beyond writing, my husband and I will continue investing in our community through our businesses, focusing on serving others with excellence in senior care, hospitality, and customer service. My prayer is that everything we build points people toward kindness, purpose, and faith.
